Memorial Ministry & Mission ("3M") Grant Application
     

    West Shore Baptist Church was founded as a mission church. We maintain objectives of both allocating a minimum of 20% of each year’s general fund budget to missions, and seeking other opportunities throughout the year for missions outreach. The purpose of the Memorial Ministry and Mission (3M) Fund is to serve as an endowment for these supplemental missions efforts.

    Grants will be distributed semi-annually.  Applications for the Spring disbursement must be submitted by April 30. Fall disbursement applications are due by October 31.  Applicants will be notified regardless of whether the application was approved or rejected within 1 month of the deadline.  Upon approval, checks will be made payable only to the organization and not an individual.  Applicants do not need to be members of WSBC. 

    Objectives of the Memorial Ministry and Mission Fund:

    • Assist and support local nonprofit organizations that minister to under resourced individuals and families in both our greater community and globally
    • Support evangelistic initiatives to unreached & unchurched individuals in both our greater community and globally 

    Grants may not be used to fund:

    • Rainy day funds
    • Current staff positions
    • Ongoing church operating expenses (i.e. utilities, insurance)
    • Repairs
    • Capital improvements to facilities 

    When determining grant awards, the following criteria will be considered:

    • The purpose of the organization must affirm and express the love of Christ and seek to further His Kingdom
    • Evidence of enhancing present ministries or expanding into new ministries
    • Number of previous 3M grants received
    • Sustainability of ministry and mission beyond 3M grant funding
    • Description of ministry and needs addressed by funding
    • The organization’sbudget submitted along with this application
    • Organization or initiative must have been operational for at least one fiscal year
    • Breadth of purpose and number of people who potentially can be served
